Halloween has long been a time when the world of the dead, the afterlife, the spirits, the unknown and fear itself become the protagonists of folk tales.
As the date of Halloween arrived, I rolled the picture dice and asked my Advanced students to write a scary story based on the resulting nine images.
The instruction was to write the opening of a story, to engage the reader and to leave the reader wanting to know more about what happened.
